The “Ilva group” and the “Acciaierie d’Italia group”, both under judicial procedure, are being put up for sale. Investors will be allowed to express their purchase interest by September 20th.
The Minister of “Enterprise and Made in Italy”, Hon. Adolfo Urso, has signed the authorization for the publication of the call for expressions of interest for the acquisition of the assets and business activities of “Ilva” and “Acciaierie d’Italia”, as well as the other companies belonging to the respective groups. These include “Ilva Servizi Marittimi SpA”, “Ilvaform SpA”, “Taranto Energia Srl”, “Socova Sas”, “Adi Energia Srl”, “Adi Servizi Marittimi Srl”, “Adi Tubiforma Srl” and “Adi Socova Sas”.
The notice, signed by the judicial appointed commissioners of “Ilva”, Mr Danovi, Mr Di Ciommo and Mr Savi, and the commissioners of Acciaierie d’Italia, Mr Fiori, Mr Quaranta and Mr Tabarelli, will be published in Italian and in English on the following websites:

The objectives of the procedure include the development of steel production in Italy, the execution of environmental protection measures aimed at reducing CO2 emissions and the commitment to the decarbonization of production processes, in accordance with the requirements of national and European regulations. In addition, the protection of employment levels is envisaged, with the aim of significantly reducing the use of social shock absorbers, maintaining a constant dialogue with the social partners.
In addition, the divestment procedure aims to provide for activities and forms of compensation for the benefit of local communities and to preserve the continuity of the business complexes of the Companies in AS, with the aim of quickly bringing them back to the highest levels of activity.
The guidelines of the call were illustrated during meetings with trade unions at Palazzo Chigi, on July 24th, and in Taranto, on July 26th, in meetings Minister Urso had with local authorities, mayor and president of the region, parliamentarians and regional councilors, trade unions and representatives of the companies in the supply chain, incorporating the indications that emerged on those occasions.
A new call for expressions of interest will also be published for the acquisition of all Sanac’s business complexes in AS at the Assemini (CA), Gattinara (VC), Massa (MS) and Vado Ligure (SV) plants, taken together.
Expressions of interest can be sent by September 20th, 2024.
